My great-niece, London, has completed her very first quilt!
It has been an absolute joy to introduce her to the art of quilting and watch her creativity come to life. London already enjoys crocheting and swimming, and now, at just 11 years old, she can proudly add Quilter to her list of talents.
This quilt is a cheerful Nine Patch featuring her favorite colors. To make it even more personal, I introduced her to the advanced technique of foundation paper piecing so she could add her name to the quilt. She proudly stitched the “L” and the “N” herself, and I couldn’t be more proud of what she accomplished.
London is fearless when it comes to trying new things, and that adventurous spirit will serve her well as she continues to grow in this wonderful craft. I truly believe the sky is the limit for her quilting journey.
We are already looking forward to entering one of her quilts in the Kids Division at the Coastal Prairie Quilt Guild Show in 2027. This first quilt is just the beginning of what I know will be many beautiful creations.
Congratulations, London! I can’t wait to see where your quilting journey takes you. 💛
